PRUSIK
A Prusik knot is for gripping and locking. This is a friction hitch that releases when pressure is removed. A knot of salvation.
We use the Prusik knot metaphor to represent the universe of a community. Seeking out new parameters, they self-exile in search of a new humanity. To not build the same thing, and use courage to create something new in relation to bonds, desire, the yearning to be free, the being’s original nature; one’s own nudity, emotion, work, family, planet… To recover the innocence of evolution, to play in peace once again, and reencounter identity before separation. It is urgent and necessary to seize Eden and take it back.
“Prusik” is a piece that places the audience at a contemplative, intrusive observation point; seeing without being seen. As the performance space itself suggests, we find ourselves before a moving diorama in which we observe the activity, days and nights, customs and ceremonies of a community, a self-banished community inspired by the Huna philosophy and with influences of the Hawaiian hula dance.

CREATE A COMMUNITY THROUGH AN ARTISTIC EXPERIENCE
The work has been structured and conceived in such a way as to be able to increase the number of performers, adding to the original trio. This tribe will be expanded with four or six professional performers in the exhibition space, thus creating the community. Over two days, the language of the company and of the work itself is transmitted with the goal of creating not only artistic but also emotional bonds, bonds that commit us to belonging —with all our love, with all our power— to a community of Prusik women and performers, generating through this experience a network of harmonious cooperation, so as to understand a way of feeling dance, community and tenderness.
A community of performers is created that will grow, feeding off each other through the universe of the work.
The performers are guided by a rigid physical score that situates, guides, shapes and directs individual and personal movement within the general system, exponentially increasing the physical collective consciousness, energy, qualities and nuances of the proposal.
It is inevitable for our intrusive spirit to expand towards other logics and ways of doing things, to refuse to accept the finite nature of a unidirectional, closed creation, for it to set in motion that which is common, the sharing of knowledge and the generation of enriching experiences within the fabric of the community of the dance.
The Prusik community aspires to be a process of continuous improvement, offering the possibility of perfecting, rethinking and enriching oneself during the various expanded versions. It is an opportunity to share thinking and the experience of engaging in a professional artistic process from the seed of the work done in the classroom to the ceremony of being observed.
The performance space is defined by a visual installation that evolves in parallel to the action on the stage. Smoke, light and air construct the landscape.
